Biography
Daniel Nagy provides business consultancy to central banks on use cases, design aspects, strategy, stakeholders and other relevant topics within the CBDC domain. Prior to working at G+D, he was part of a CBDC Think Tank and was a director at an investment management company. He has received education on Banking and Finance. Within G+D Daniel Nagy is part of the CBDC thought leadership team and has (co)authored various papers and concepts and is working on retail CBDC projects in Africa. His main research area is the effects of digital currencies on the global macroeconomy and geopolitics.

Research and experimentations around cross-border CBDCs have accelerated in recent years. However, retail cross-border CBDC experimentations have remained relatively underdeveloped in comparison with cross-border wholesale CBDC payments. At the moment, cross-border payments face significant and urgent challenges around costs, speed, transparency, and regulation. This session will deal with questions like - What opportunities do CBDCs offer and what are the hurdles to overcome? - What potential use cases are there? - What could a solution look like?
